Show THE EDITOR. To those who have followed the growth of Agricultural sentiment in this state, it was a genuine pleasure to note in the halls of the last Legislature, Legis-lature, the ncliance plrvccd thy the law-makers upon the Agricultural information in-formation and opinions of the Editor Edi-tor of this paper. The Editor has given his life, sinct boyhood, to the development of the argicultural resources of our state. The work has not always been a pleasant one. There have been times when appreciation was not to be found, and other times when opposition opposi-tion was vigorous. With the progress of time, however, and the advance of the Utah conditions, the sentiment has changed. The work done by out Editor is now being appreciated as never before. The Deserct I'Sinner, und.er the Editor's supervision, is doing i work among the people, scarcely second to the organized efforts of the State, in behalf of our industrial development. develop-ment. It is probably the most potent single factor in the agricultural progress pro-gress of Utah. The Farmers' Institute work, -after Prof. Merrill's supervision, is becoming becom-ing a mighty force for the welfare of the toilers. The appreciation now given to the work done by the Editor Edi-tor of this paper, is simply the fulfillment ful-fillment of the ancient and unchangeable unchange-able law, that to him who works faithfully, earnestly, and unselfishly for his fellowmcn, nature and nature's children cannot withhold their approval. appro-val. Tha work before the Editor of this paipcr involves great (responsibility. It is no easy task to stand as a pub lic exponent in a great State of the mightiest cause on earth, the cause espoused by Adam and Eve, the first 1 gardeners. The friends of the Editor Edi-tor sincerely hope and wish that he may -be made able to measure meas-ure up to the full responsibility of the work which rests upon him. He has done his work well in the past; he will do it even bcUcr in 'the future. In the columns of the Deserct Farmer, Far-mer, the Editor has spoken praise of all who have helped in Utah's pro-gtess, pro-gtess, agriculturally and industrially. His own praise has been the excel-lence excel-lence of his work in this Journal. Against the Editor's protest, hi friends write and the management publish these words of praise of the Editor of the Deserct Farmer. |
