It seems that every year, especially after the first snow falls begin, that we find people complaining about the overnight parking ordinances within our cities. Most cities in our area have such ordinances on their books and, we might add, they are there for a reason. Probably the most significant reason this time year is that when the streets are free from parked cars, the snow crews can do a better job of clearing the streets. But aside from that fact, which most residents readily realize, there are several other important factors behind a no overnight parking ordinance. Granted the politicians (win or lose) had a lot ' of things to do after the final votes were in. But how long does in take to canvass the area and remove unneeded signs now that the election is a thing of the past? Lets hope that those winners with signs still hanging are not as slow in accomplishing things while in office.
