An unidentified caller informed the police department Sunday morning that two of the ducks that belong in the pond were wandering through the parking lot in front of Sprouse Reitz. Officer Burton, who had heard for the past week and a half that there was a duck on the pond with something around its head, responded to the call and upon arrival found one of the two ducks had a plastic retainer from a k around its neck. The plastic retainer was also forced into the back of the ducks mouth making it impossible for the duck to swallow anything. Some quick moves on the part of Officer Burton resulted in the ducks capture and the removal of the retainer, after which the duck was returned, feeling greatly relieved, to the pond. six-pac- Award given DON BLAIR, left, recently received a Service Award from Mayor Donal Townley for eight years of service to Clearfield City on the safety council.
