LITERARY CLUB PLANS PARTY The Senior Literary Club of Hyyrum will hold their annual Christmas party at the home of Mrs. Alban T. Clawson on Friday evening at 8 p. m. Wilson on Thursday, December ID at 2:30 p m. with Vice Captain Ada Nielsen in charge. Melinda Liljenquist will present the lesson on Pioneer Fashions. Special musical numbers arranged by Mrs. Eva Gustave-se- n will be a piano selection of Christmas songs by Mrs. Alta Petersen and a ladies quartet by Lorraine Allen, Virginia Larsen,' Thelma Petersen and Alta Petersen. Each member is asked to bring a gift for exchange. Santa will be present. Hostesses are Isabelle Wilson, Wanda Dunn, Agnes Unsworth, Lillian Stoddard and Alice Jensen. Mrs. Joseph B. Gunnell gave an interesting Christmas story, and the group sang several Christ mas carols. Following the program, a number of games were enjoyed and a delicious luncheon J served. Mr. Thornley has been principal of the Benson school for the past six and a half years. He taught at Trenton school previously. He has been engaged in educational work since graduating from the USAC. He graduated from the North Cache High school where during his senior year he was president of the student body. During the summertime for the past six years he has worked for the California Packing Corp. Mr. Thornley is president of the Cache County Principals association. He is a Smithfield City Councilman, serving as chairman of the finance committee.
