Opposing the propposed road were representatives of the Utah Idaho Central Railroad Co. who urged the widening of the present bridge and cutting through a small hill for a straight away, rather than construct a new crossing and road. Present at the hearing were residents of Hyrum and Nibley who were partisan to the new road. The Cache County Council of Parent Teachers with Mrs. Gladys E Jensen of Hyrum as president, promoted the action. George D. Preston, Cache County Attorney, presented the case before the commission in behalf of the residents. He pointed out how difficult it was to straighten the existing bad turns leading to the bridge and also the impracti-bilit- y of cutting into the hill. No decision was reached, but findings will be announced later.
