Show 12 May 21, 2003 Salina Sun Young Engineers Get A Chance At SES 'TTTr Students at Salina Elementary School received edu- hands-o- n cation during Junior Engineering day, which took place at the -'IT- school May 5. The program, sponsored by A C t j? ,f than 20 activities, learning about simple machines, pulleys, gears and levers. They also had the opportunity to assemble machines including dump trucks, i 1 bulldozers, cranes, catapults and er aw t s ! v 1 . a-- f At the State Tournament held in St. George, the North Sevier softball team competed well. The girls beat Parowan, lost to Juan Diego, and beat Richfield on the first weekend. They beat Millard and lost to South Sevier in the quarter-finalThey ended up tied for sixth place with Beaver. Juan Diego 1st, Manti 2nd, South Sevier 3rd, Grand 4th, Gunnison 5th.
