Show NOVEMBER 3, 1987 created Stake Northridge reorganized, Layton A major reorganiLAYTON zation of the Layton LDS Stake took place in conjunction with the recent stake conference. The Layton Stake presidency was released and the stake was divided, creating a Layton Northridge Stake and two new stake presidencies were sustained. Released from the position of Layton Stake President was Evan A. Whitesides. His counselors, Kent Randall and Ardell Adams were also released. This stake presidency has served in their posi- tions for m years. Prior to his appointment as stake president, Evan Whitesides served for 7'i years as a counselor in the Layton Stake presidency. His long record of service to the LDS Church includes IS years as a member of the Layton Stake High Council and five years as bishop of the Layton 7th Ward. Sustained as the new Layton Stake president was Stephen F. Ronnenkamp. His counselors are Don R. Evans and Kurt D. Randall. Keith Brimhall is the stake executive secretary and Rulon Terry is the stake clerk. Assistant stake clerks are Boyd Keller, Richard Pitkin and Ray Kearns. Members of the Stake High Council are Vernon Moon, Cordell Fin- - linson, Vance Downs, Elwin Roberts, William Moss, Quayle Dutson, William Martinson, Allen Chournis, James Schmidt, Lynn Mickelson and Stephen Adams. The wards comprising the Layton Stake are 6th, 7th, 11th, 17th and 23rd. The stake boundaries are the south side of Antelope Drive to the freeway, along the freeway to the west and to Kays Creek on the east. There are 2750 members in the Layton Stake. The Layton Northridge Stake is the north side of Antelope to the boundaries of Layton. The west boundary is Angel Street and the Members of the Northridge east boundary is U.S. Highway 89. Wards in the Northridge Stake include the 15th, 28th, 33rd, 39th, 42nd and 43rd. There are 3500 members in this newly created stake. The Northridge Stake President is S. Clair Bankhead. His counselors are Kirk D. Black and L. Terry Flitton. Roy McFerson is the executive secretary with Bruce Davis as stake clerk and James Layton as Stake High Council include Lyle Elmore, William Bindrup, Bruce Barton, Jeffrey Ostler, Rick Jon Warner, Greg OToole, Ryan Harris and Doyle Talbot. The Northridge stake center was dedicated the day of stake conference. J. Thomas Fyans, President of the Utah North area, officiated at the dedication. He was assisted by Marlin Jensen, regional Lif-fret- h, assistant stake clerk. After Constitution Ball set LAYTON The Holmes Creek Layton LDS Stake will celebrate the Bicentennial of the U.S. Constitution at a special Constitution Ball. 0 The dance will be held Saturday, Nov. 14 from p.m. Music will be furnished by Trax. Sharon Carver, stake cultural arts specialist, has prepared a special program. All members of the stake, 16 years of age and older, are invited to attend. There is no admission charge. He also looks forward to further educational experiences and to serving others through scouting. J $3(B KJ. Maim, IKaysviMe a e $ 8- y 5 8 Heights 4th Ward Varsity Scouts, was given recognition for achieving the rank of Eagle Scout. In a court of honor held on Nov. 1, his Eagle award was presented by Russell Peterson representing the Francis Peak District, Lake Bonneville Council. He was one of three young men who received their Eagles that evening. Clark, a 10th grade student at Davis High School, has served as a patrol leader as well as a squad leader and advancement program manager in the Varsity Scout program. He has earned his Arrow of Light, Gospel in Action, Faith in God, and On My Honor Awards. He has also earned his Varsity Letter. For his Eagle project, he, in cooperation with Fruit Heights City and a fellow scout, Kenney Collings, stenciled address numbers on the curbs in front of over 200 homes in the Fruit Heights area west of Highway 89.
