With their support, he broke the neighborhoods down into groups, then visited each group with instructions on how the program worked. I told them to be aware of suspicious activities and how to spot a burglar. We also talked about what they should do if they are burglarized, said Detective Lee. Most of the city is covered by Neighborhood Watches, according to Detective Lee. It took about a year to get everybody involved he said. My biggest concern was getting the neighbors involved in reporting Detective Lee said. crime, Weve had really good response. There have been cases where neighbors have seen burglaries going on, theyve called the police and weve been able to apprehend the suspects in the act. Detective Lee said some of the neighbors meet with their groups every couple of months to talk about problems in the Neighborhood Watch and how to make them better. Also, when someone goes on vacation, they can put their name on the Vacation Watch list. Neighbors will watch their house and police officers will make a house check at least once in a period. Weve had good success from the Vacation Watch program as well, said Detective Lee. Although they get some insignificant calls, Detective Lee said most of the calls are very legitimate. Detective Lee has been with the Kaysville Police force 10 years, e and has lived in the area all his life. 24-ho- Layton-Kaysvill- Hot News Tips For North Davis?
