He has been a resident of Clearfield for the past 40 years. As a farmer and stockraiser, he is a large Davis County Taxpayer. He has for the past 14 years been a member of the Clearfield town board, during which time he had direct charge of of the present culinary water system. He served 14 years as a member of the Clearfield L. D. S. ward bishopric and is at present a member of the High Council in North Davis stake, that a man elected to public office is a public servant, if do everything in my power to deal equal treatment throughout Mr. Layton asserted. Since hia admission to the Utah State Bar in 1934, Orlando J. Bowman has figured prominently in public office and private practice of law in Davis County. He was elected to serve as County Attorney during two previous terms of office, 1934-3- 6 and 1936-3- Mr Bowman received his Bachelor of Laws degree from the Law School of the University of Utah in 1934, graduating with High Honors, the only member of his giaduating class whese scholastic record won that distinction. In 1938 he was awarded a Bachelor of Arts degree at the University of Utah, and in 1939 from the Harvard Law School at Cambridge, Mass, he received his Master of Laws degree, doing special work in the special fields of Taxation, Corporation Finance, Municipal Corporations, and Labor Law. Rampton, incumbent candidate for the office of Davis County Commissioner for the term, is an indication that he should be returned to this position for another term. County Debt Reduced until at the present time Davis County is debt free. County Equipment Increased. At the present time Davis County has equipment valued at $50,000, whereas in 1934 the county only had a small amount of maintenance equipment. Oiled Roads. Davis county since 1934 has oiled 125 miles of highways as an aid to residents who travel over the area. Court House Debt Free. Since 1934 the Davis County Court House has been paid out and is now free of debt. He is chairman of the Davis County Weed Control committee, which was organized in 1938 and has greatly benefited farmers since it has been in operation.
