DECEMBER, 1945 Bazaar Sponsored By Lady Lions real bazaar was sponsored by the Centerville Lady Lions on Thursday and Friday, Nov. 15 and 16. Proceeds from the affair are to go toward the remodeling of the Soldiers Memorial hall. Complete with all the trime bazaar mings of a good gaily decorated booths for selling aprons, gifts, bakery goods, candy, vegetables, a rumhot dog mage sale, stand and bingo game. The bin-g- o game was popular with its prizes of cute fuzzy animals and boxes of candy. The tables where pie and cake a la mode were served were also a big attraction. The beautiful quilts which were raffled were won by Mrs. Reggie Coles and Mrs. Horace Rigby. At last reports we received, the proceeds totaled about $900. The Lady Lions are to be hearA old-fashion- ed old-tim- fish-pon- d, tily congratulated on putting over such a really worthwhile and successful affair. o Becomes Pledge Joyce Wilson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E. R. Wilson, became a pledge of Lamda Delta Sigma, Herbert Haacke Society And Clubs Elected Mayor Mr. and Mrs. Norman Barber announce the marriage of their daughter, Dorothy, to Darrell S. Taylor on November 27. A reception was held at the home of the brides parents on Wednes- town election show that Herb Haacke will serve as the next president of our Town Board. Herb has done a lot of good in the town and we feel sure that under his leadership a good many more things can be done. Elected to positions on the Board were Earl Hansen, Willis Layton, Douglas Walton and Thomas Cook, who is the only veteran member. Results of the recent o May We Suggest . . .? What an improvement it would be if garbage, ashes and clinkers could be gathered twice a month during the months of December, January, February and March instead of just once a month. We recommend the second and last Saturdays as the best days then our clinkers wouldnt fill many tubs and boxes before the next collection day! so day. Mrs. Ruth Tingey was hostess to the Literature, Music and Art club on Friday, Nov. 2. Mrs. Burnham gave an interesting talk on Walt Disney and his art. On Friday, Nov.' 23, Mrs. Lola Barber was hostess to the club. Mrs. Ivy Carr reviewed the book My Antonia. The Clique club met at the home of Terese Decker, Monday, November 12. Rob- Homecoming Party Held For Veterans servicemen were special guests at a dance in their honor held on Friday, Nov. 23 Returned in the Memorial hall. This was the initial party of a series to be held for the returning veterans and was under the direction of the Mutual. The guests danced to the music orchestra. The decorations were carried out in a green and white theme and gave the hall a really festive air.
