Show OBITUARY NOTES JOHN WEDGE john wedge died in panaca lincoln county nevada nov 29 1895 of paralysis at the age of 75 years 11 months and 7 days deceased was born in hampshire Hampa bire england and emigrated to utah in 1861 moved to panaca nevada in 1865 where be has halt since resided he was well known to many of the traveling riders elders of the church in his bis native country be fore he emigrated to utah his hia house be bar ing open to them at all times EMILY BELL bied RED CANYON uinta wyo dec eth 1895 sister emily bell wife of william bell ot of red bed canyon died this thia day at 1130 1130 p in of typhoid fever she had been married seventeen y ears eara had had nine children eight of them are still living she has resided in red canyon ten years she and her husband and family went through the salt lake temple last lait october she was baptized into the church by her husband on the of october 1881 in the sheffield conference coule rence england and is 40 years of age she was a member of the relief belief society of almy ward and was punctual in the discharge of her duties both to her family and her official duties in the churon church she was a good faithful wile wife a kind and affectionate mother a peaceful peace lul citizen and a true latter day saint one who was beloved and respected by sill nil she dived ived well and died in m 1110 full faub of the gospel el the body will be interred in the church church cemetery at almy on sunday dec esth RICHARD B R HODGSON HANS died at al levan utah november 17 1895 of pneumonia hans petersen brother petersen was born on the island of bolland Lo lland denmark april 18 1819 hen hence attained the age of 76 years yeara and 7 months in 1852 1862 he be heard for the first time the gospel proclaimed by an elder ot of the church of jesus christ of latter day saints he pondered over it for some time and in july 1853 his bis wife and family was baptized in december the same year he aleffi with wife and two children his home and native land and xe reached ached america in march 1854 one of the children died and was buried at st louis mo he arrived with the rest of his family at salt lake city october 5 1854 he went to Sati sanpete vets county and met set led ledat at fort ephraim in the fall of 1859 be moved to 10 mount pleasant to help start and build up that place in 1864 he was called to go to sever county to help buildup build up Rich neld dold but baton on account of indian depredations the settlers were compelled LO 10 leave and in Se sep pember ember 1865 he moved back to ephraim in 1869 he moved to levan to help build up the fourth now new set ae lement where he lived until hi hii hia i demise recently brother petersen belon belonged ged to the forty ninth quorum of seventies he was as as his health permitted a minute man always on hand band whenever called upon doing his full duty duly and can truly be remembered among the pioneers of utah he died as he had lived a humble bumble late franklin neff and prances frances M and was born at east mill creek salt lake county utah nov 23 1868 being born and raised in the church of jesus christ of latter day saints she early manifested the virtues of the gospel and by her quiet and winning disposition madea made a wide circle of friends her physical constitution was never robust and was even quite delicate for several years before she died which was perhaps due to the presence of an internal trouble that finally caused her death during the long sickness sickles a previous to her death she bore her sufferings with the greatest patience and fortitude and exhibited an immovable faith in the administrations of the elders Eiders andor and ordinances din ances of the gospel she submitted gift the greatest cheerfulness to the surgical operation from which she never rallied and showed a faith ano and courage knot not often seen in persons of much stronger bronger tr body and temperament on recovering consciousness after afier the operation she bhe lived only a few hours dying peacefully and without pain abbat 4 0 clock p m W nov ab 1895 she was a teacher in the sabbath school and nd one of the presidency of the Y L Z M I 1 A and always took an active part in whatever tended to good her funeral was held in the east mill creek meeting house saturday nov 9 1895 on which occasion consoling and instructive tive remarks ginterr 17 elder joseph E taylor offering the dedicatory prayer at the grave cox COM MORRIS davia DA VIS morris davis son of tthomas thomas and mary davis who died at his residence in the nineteenth ward of this city november of heart fal failure lue super induced by typhoid fever was born in south wales in the year 1836 he embraced the gospel in his bis native land in 1861 emigrated to utah in 1862 married jane ny may M 16 15 1865 by whom he had two jonsan sons and two daughter three of whom are still living he left salt Lake City february 4 1887 on a mission to wales where he be lab labored olred with much zeal and diligence and by his kind earnest and persue persuasive Alve manner made many friends he was honorably released from this mission and returned home to his family and friends on july 11 1888 he was wag employed for fora a number of years on the temple block and continued to work there until the completion of the temple and for some time subsequently elder davis was honored and beloved by all who k knew no w him for his u wavering unwavering ti fail bin h in the gospel his steadfastness ot burpoe and serup scrupulous ulous honesty won for him the confidence and regard of all who had the pleasure of his acquaintance he possessed some marked peculiarities which distinguished him among his fellows and which made him a pronounced character he was non aggressive and of a pacific temperament pro pre erring to suffer injustice from froin others rather then than to employ stringent measures to secure hi his rights he was however lealous of hi his hornor honor and guarded with vigilance lence his self respect he was of a retiring disposition P n and diffident in approaching 0 others yet his strong social qualities and thirst for knowledge enabled him measure aby to overcome his otherwise se sensitive lea feelings lings and become an agree i able companion in any capacity he was called upon to render service he was a member of the thirtieth quorum of seventy and a diligent worker in his ward his crowning virtue was VM humility he was an afier bonate hus hue band a loving father and a faithful lat tr ter day saint he died as he be had lived in
