francis merrell marshal falarsh al abra liam E brans vans and R al jeppson a and n d victor E aladden representing the press I 1 the old council went into session at 11 II and finished up some matters of business in in order that a clean board might be presented to the incoming officials at 12 mayor blackburn Clack burn upon being informed that everything was in readiness to induct the new members into office made a few closing remarks in which ile he thanked those aho vho ho had bad been associated alth him for the loyal support they had ghen and for the unselfish manner in which they had worked for the welfare of the city the alador alayor complimented the city council upon its record stating that nothing had apen hirkey by the council but every problem kiich had come up had been disposed of in the best judgment of the members ile he welcomed the new members assuring them of his personal good feeling toward each of them and bespeak ing for or them a pleasant experience in working for the up building of the city the mayor complimented the other officials also and thanked them for what they had done at the conclusion of tho the Ala mayors remarks each official present spoke his and her feelings the ahe outgoing ones 0 nes referring in affectionate terms to the association of thelast the past two ye arsand wishing thoi the new n e members every success as abw nali cu a as assuring the en entire tta administration of their loyalty to the city and its government and proffering their service it ever they should be desired the incoming officers expressed gratitude and expressing the belief that the coming two years would be fraught with as pleasant memories as the past two had been been alter after all had spoken john D peters was recognized and made a rn motion to adjourn sine die which was seconded and carried the old officials then vacated their offices and tile the new ones took their places A short session ol of the council was then held after that style which has long ago made this hostelry famous at the banquet all present were guests of the former administration while the tables were being airing ai ranged the dining room was full when the party arrived the incoming officials held a caucus the outcome of which was that the entire company was invited to be the guests of the new officials at a theatre party to witness the production of little johnny jones the invitation was accepted and tnt entire body met at the council chambers at p m and marched to the opera house chaperoned by councilman 11 S larsen two rows and a halt half down OA on bald head had been reserved for the worthy dignitaries and eiery one present got the worth of ills his money especially wynn eddy who declared tine and again that he was getting the worth
