following lullu wing report by millspaugh was read recorded and filed GENTLEMEN I 1 have the honor formally to 10 report the opening of the hamilton school ou on monday march 6 h b the building as now completed consists of eight class rooms two recitation rooms and principal office its ais capacity on the basis bamis of fifty pupils to the room is therefore pupils on the opening morning there were pupils representing all of the eight grades the third grade was foundton found to number pupils find and required two rooms the six sixth t V seventh and eighth grades were placed in one room although this was done at the cost of considerable crowding of desks new pupils b have ave been added to the enrollment each day since the opening and a few have been returned to the schools from which they iney came As early as monday it ii was apparent that there must be room furnished for all the pupils that were seeking admission on tue tuesday arrangements were made for temporarily pora rily reopening reo ning one of the rooms in the old buildings to furnish relief for the overcrowded over crowded second secona and lounh fourth grades ades on wednesday morning accordingly this room was occupied making a total of nine classrooms for the school in several of the rooms extra seats have been placed and all are filled but I 1 believe that we shall now he be able to get a along ong quite quit 0 well Wel until the completion of th the two ar ground band hoor floor rooms ij following in ia a statement which gives the number ot of pupils in the school today and the sources irom from which they were drawn old port fort school old second school tenh school 92 fourteenth school 9 seventh school 1 twenty first scheel 1 south lawn 1 bryant errant school 5 third school 9 eighth school 1 eighteenth school 2 not enrolled in any other public school this year original entries 44 total js the number of original entries is thus seen to be nearly 10 percent per cent of the entire enrollment the proportion of original entries at the lowell school was considerably larger than this amounting to about 16 per cent i these mate ments are interesting as indica ing the effect upon the public mind of the existence in the vicinity ot of large healthful attractive school buildings a the roster of teachers at the hamilton school with their classes is as follows room 1 mrs Gern gemmell sites and build inge to whom was referred the matter of st at curing bids for beating and ventilating the oquirrh school building reported smead warming venti lating company son company hoesch davies company pj moran the committee recommended the accept ance of mr moran Is bid but after a long discussion the name of heeson heesch davies aud and company was substituted IQ in a minority report for that of midgley sons gone assignments the committee also reported portel re that the assignment on august by F M wright W right in favor of f bothwell both well wall filed with th clerk of the board on january and recommended that all ail payments due to be paid in accordance with the raid laid assignment that the same action betoken betaken be taken in the assignment of of croxford bros broa bryan in favor of mason co that thai all contractors of the several school build buildings logs be required to furnish the clerk of the board with a J list of all suf aut contractors cou tractors that
