Show DEATH OF A WORTHY MAN john charles hall departed this life on monday march ad 1890 at his bis residence in rockville Boc kville washington county of old age and debility super induced by dropsy the deceased was born I 1 in n faver abam england october 1821 reared in the church of england he yet possessed that sturdy independence pen dence of mind and love of truth which rendered him a ready convert to the latte rd message of repentance he came in 1841 and in toronto canada follower foll followed owea his profession of painting until one evening in the year 1847 he found a copy of the voice of warning he did not zest rest until he be had bad carefully read and studied the entire work and then straightway left all and came to the state of now new york in search of one authorized to adin administer inister the ordinances of salvation he was baptized in november 1847 by elder bailey since which time he had bad borne a strong anti and undeviating testimony to the truth of the gospel goo as revealed through joseph smith the deceased emigrated to utah in 1850 and two years later was called to go to his native land to preach reach the gospel he labored faithfully F aith fully in this capacity tor for five years returning in 1857 he volun volu n leered to come to southern utah in 1861 his being the pioneer team during part of the journey to settle the barren sand hills and narrow vales of our dixie for nearly twenty nine years he be had resided in rockville Boc kville he was widely known and respected his amiable disposition charity for all and malice towards none uever never speaking evil of his neighbor caused him to be much loved by those who were best acquainted with him he leaves two wives t belve telve elve t hildren and a number of grandchildren to mourn his loss D F STOUT march ath 1890 |
