Director Richard Bugg explained that since The Best Christmas Pageant Ever is so short, Carol Lynn Pearsons A Stranger for Christmas was added. The plays run tomorrow through Saturday and Tickets for students are $2. Dec. 12-1- AUDITIONS SET: Auditions for William Shakespeares Loves Labours Lost and Neil Simons The Prisoner of Second Avenue are set Dec. 9 at 5 p.m. in the Randall L. Jones Theatre. Those interested should prepare a for one-minu- Shakespearean dialogue, preferably from a comedy, and a piece from a contemporary comedy. Rehearsals for Loves Labours Lost begin Jan. 1 and the production is slated to begin Feb. 6. The Prisoner of Second Avenue is scheduled to run in March. one-minu- STRING PLAYERS TO GIVE CONCERT: Suzuki Strings will present a Christmas concert Saturday at 2 p.m. in Thorley Recital Hall. The concert will feature nearly 100 violin, viola and cello students from Cedar City and Las Vegas. It is free and the public is invited to attend. MESSIAH COMES ON SUNDAY: The Choir of Southern Utah and combined community orchestras will present Messiah, by George Handel, Sunday night at 8 p.m. in Thorley Recital Hall. BAND PLAYS MONDAY: A review of the music performed during the SUU football season will be featured Monday at a concert presented by the Thunderbird Marching Band. The concert will begin at 7:30 p.m. in Thorley Recital Hall. Admission is $1 for students and $3 for adults. SUU faculty and staff members will be admitted free with SUU identification. K Orchesis has been practicing to perform in Arizona this weekend. Orchesis will have their own full-lengt- com h Orchesis to perform in Arizona Orchesis, SUUs modern dance company, is performing tomorrow and Saturday at Scottsdale College in Scottsdale, Ariz. The company was invited by the college to be the guest performers at a concert. According to Terri Lauterbach-Cotts- , Orchesis director, the Scottsdale dance company will perform at Orchesis annual concert in March. Its nice because Scottsdale is the universitys added. sister city, Lauterbach-Cott- s The group is taking four pieces to perform: Careless Passage, which details the struggles of the homeless as choreographed by Cheri an athletic, McDowell; Untamed Motion, music African drum dance to primitive and McDowell; choreographed by Lauterbach-Cott- s LauterbachTerri Joyeux, choreographed by Get Ready for Christinas With Great Deals from The Hairstyling Shop Cotts; and Gangin It which is about street gangs and choreographed by Leslie Christensen, the guest choreographer. Christensen graduated from Utah State, and Gangin It was performed by Utah State in London. Lauterbach-Cott- s describes Joyeux as the dance which offers a contrast to the other dances. d She said it is a lovely, piece to the Brandenburg Concerto. Jon Paulsen provides accompaniment for the dancers with African drums, the guitar and an electric organ. Its great because hes learning to have live music to dance to, we and accompany Lauterbach-Cott- s said.
