Show m BwistiifirDas BY DAVID McEWEN Thunderbud Staff Writer While Jack Frost starts nipping at your nose, a gala of Christmas activities are abounding on SUs campus and in Cedar City as the quarter winds down The Nutcracker ballet will be performed by the Nevada Dance Theatre at Cedar High School on Friday a matinee at 1 30 p m and an evening performance at 7 30 p m Students are admitted free to the production with a current student I D Fantasy in Frost continues this evening, running from 7 p m in the Harris Pavilion and tomorrow from 8 p m Admission is 50 cents to see the Christmas trees decorated by local businesses The Best Christmas Pageant Ever and A Stranger for Christmas open tonight as a double-featur- e in the SUU Auditorium Those still bah humbuging will d surely catch the Christmas spirit with these plays The plays run tonight through with all performances Dec 7 and Dec will be held at 2 A 8 m at matinee p starting p m on Dec 14 All student tickets are $2 with a current SUU I D For those already in the Christmas swing, a Messiah sing-i- n will be held in the Thorley Recital Hall Sunday at 8 p m A Festival of Trees will be under way tonight at the LDS Institute Santa Claus will make a guest appearance during the evening to share food, singing and fun The event starts at 6 p m A girls choice Christmas dance will take place tomorrow, and a New Years Eve dance is also scheduled at the Institute Of course the basketball season is well under way for those sports enthusiasts who want to see some holiday hoop action The SUU mens basketball team will play Southeast Missouri tonight at 7 30 in the Centrum They also play Weber on Dec 14 and Montana on Dec 16 in the Centrum The SU womens basketball squad will play at home against Texas El Paso Dec 14 at 5 p m and Montana on Dec 18 at 7 30 p m 5-- 5-- 'III! high-spirite- 12-1- Ui.'
