BRING IN THIS COUPON FOR A FREE TOFUTTI CONE "A DELICIOUS ONLY AT NON-DAIR- Y BY JENNIFER SIMPSON In a partnership with Salt Lake City's KUTV television station, SUSC's communication department now has more than $6,400 worth of new video equipment. SUSC and KUTV each provided approximately $3,200 to supply new equipment for SUSC's Cable Channel 9. KUTV became interested in SUSC's facilities because the northern Utah station broadcasts the Utah Summer Games from Cedar City. KUTV decided having equipment in Cedar City would be more convenient than bringing it down from its Salt Lake City facilities each summer. The equipment has arrived and will be used this fall in conjunction with television classes. The equipment includes character generators, cameras, chronological switches, chromakeys, VTRs, an audio bay and sound edit equipment. "For a college, we are well equipped," said Frain Pearson, communication department head. The Centrum is now wired with cables so the station will be able to videotape all home basketball games and other events and relay them directly to students' rooms. Also some of the womens basketball games will be taped occasionally. A few of the programs that will be seen on Cable Channel 9 this year are ones such as a news program which will air five nights a week. Cable 9 will broadcast a news magazine program. The broadcast will differ from last year's and will sport a new title. There will also be a variety of other programs to be broadcast. KUTV will be sponsoring a workshop this month in the Centrum, with station personnel on hand to demonstrate how the equipment works. te TREAT" SUNSHINE HEALTH FOODS 650 S.
