"Carpeting and electrical work are the main reasons for the delay of the new Student Center's opening," said Sterling Church, vice president for student services. "We all would much rather spend a little necessary time making the center safe and absolutely complete rather than rushing for a quick opening with a mediocre appearance as the regretful result," added Church. Carpet nails and electrical wires need to be properly placed to secure a safe environment for years to come. "Furniture, artificial plants and numerous video games are soon to arrive and will be wisely arranged according to our designer's plans," explained Church. Also Tony Rasmussen, the art department head, is finishing up a mural for the spacious Kolob Canyon Room. And all of the little artistic touchups such as wall hangings and portable lighting fixtures will cotribute to the necessary time to finalize the center's completion, in"" V. fj?v '"sMf- JOHN ,'t fS ':'C CITE PARKING AS NUMBER ONE PROBLEM IN A COLLEGE POLL SEE PAGE 6.
