The purpose of the survey was to e determine where and how students were finding jobs, and to pin down new ideas of what student employment needs are. The employment survey consisted of two parts: the first part was the actual survey of students and the second part worked with identifying employers and employers options when hiring students. Vicki Vorwaller, assistant student service center director, spearheaded the survey. The survey targeted student's employment needs, said Vicki, we received positive results from both students and employers. Student survey findings included statistics such as: 69 percent would be willing to remain in Cedar City during summer months if employed, only 26 percent knew about job opportunities available through the Student Service Center, and 50 percent said they were working on campus. Vorwaller collected a listing of businesses available in Cedar City from the Chamber of Commerce. These businesses were then contacted to make possible connections for stud ant job opportunities. An accumulation of all the information was compared and analyzed to design effective job employment connections for students and to determine student job status. For information on job opportunities and possible placement programs stop by the Counseling and Placement Center located in room 102 in the new administration building. full-tim- . i TICKETS ARE NOW ON SALE AT THE CENTRUM BOX OFFICE STUDENT DISCOUNTS AVAILABLE P.E.
