A junkie, father and husband. My mediocre life began in a small town in Indiana. Some people would consider it a hick town but that is only because it was. After being weened on Pabst Blue Ribbon beer, our family moved to Utah. By family mean my mother, myself, and three brothers. My father in all his wisdom remained in Indiana to further his career in the police department and to chase women of the waitress persuasion. Mom had decided on Utah after giving very serious thought and deep consideration to living nowhere else. She knew that Utah, the promised land, where no one smoked or drank and swear words were unheard of, was the answer. I, knowing that she would be completely emotionally destroyed when she got here, tried to prevent her from being hurt at all costs. My need to help her was so great that flattened her tires, took out her spark plugs, and hid her keys. After all the help had given her, we were still coming to the promised land. We all know that promises are meant to be broken and Utah was no exception. Upon entering the state we had a chance to meet one of the state birds. After a quick hello and goodbye we needed to stop and clean our windshield and ponder the thought of hiding the remains. Giving this serious moment of tragedy its due measure we decided to keep in line with the state and do it a latter-daMy brothers and myself entered school with the very highest hopes of being mediocre. We wanted to excell and be the very best at both not having any of our teachers remember our names and not getting grades that might ruin our hopes of attaining this highest of goals. We worked hard at achieving all we couldn't, realizing that the slightest error could ruin all the dedicated and responsible work we had accomplished thusfar. Before the four of us could get very far in our ambitions at school our mother met a man of the highest caliber. He was a dedicated laborer, who would work as hard as he had to just to get along. Naturally he couldn't be expected to work if it were too hot or if it were too cold and if the weather were just right, only a fool would work on a day like that. So he was very happy just getting along. Mother, in all her wisdom, married this man and we all moved to Logan. I was so happy that she had found her truest and deepest love that I ruined all had acomplished in school so far. They knew my name; 1 2 years of my life ruined. I couldn't believe the popularity was receiving. Teachers knew my name, other students knew my name, the police department knew my name. All because was a little upset one day. One day is all it took. All the years of being mediocre were gone. For what? A little mistake and they wouldn't even give me credit for my past lack of achievements. didn't know it was pot. How was supposed to know? Just because was selling it for $200 an ounce didn't mean knew what it was. Needless to say wasn't prepared for being popular. I just wanted to live an excitingly dull life. Hoping to return to the standard of living that was used to I decided to run away and see my father. My father had tired of just chasing after waitresses and decided he had found his true love, a waitress. Arriving there it was made known to me that they thought that was a sweet, kind and wonderful kid. My notoriety was not my fault and was most welcome to leave their lives at the soonest possible moment. Feeling compassion, left without waking them. Feeling that should do what could to return myself to mediocre. came to a very honest and thoughtful conclusion: heroin. Along with it I thought a wife would add to making my life boring and less meaningful. Suddenly came to my senses. What the hell had I been doing? wasn't going to achieve mediocrity this way. This just isn't enough. I need children. That's it: children. How much more mediocre can you get? Heroin, wife, and children.
