The story of the two mixed-u- p sets of twins and their farcical tribulations continues to delight audiences and fill the theatre each time it is presented. This summers production will be directed by Kent Thompson, a newcomer to the ranks of Utah Shakespearean Festival directors. e Festival favorite director Howard Jensen is returning for the 1987 season to direct Richard III, the bloody story of the hunchbacked Duke of Gloucester who gleefully plots and siezes the throne of England, leaving a trail of slaughter and destruction behind him, only to meet his fate on Bosworth Field as the Wars of the Roses end and the house of Tudor is founded, Jensen is remembered and beloved by Festival audiences for both acting and directing credits. Rounding out the 1987 season will be Much Ado About Notiiing, another version of will All-tim- love affair with the this story Beatrice and Benedick trade wits, jibes and barbs, only to find that they are deeply and lustily attracted to each other. Villainous machinations and foul subterfuge are unmasked as the love story of Hero and Claudio unfolds in a second interwoven plot. Robert Cohen will direct Much Ado. He Shakespeare's battle of the sexes. on-goi- In The 26th annual Festival includes three crowd-pleasin-g rr.rrrmr productions. -- J directed the 1985 USF production of Antony and Cleopatra.
