SEE PAGE 7. 5-- Platt relishes school board post BY DAWN-MARI- E DE BUSK As if her role in education as SUSC wasn't enough, Sage Platt has taken on a new challenge in the field that of a member of the Iron County Board of Education Elected to the post Nov 4, she'll add the concerns of the county's youth to her post as an assistant professor of communication and director of individual events in the forensic program at SUSC. The college's forensic team is of high importance to Platt, who says, "Most of my goals are centered on forensics. It's hard to top what we've done before but we can work to maintain our image." This is Platt's eighth year of coaching Individual Events at SUSC Her voice has an edge of reminiscence as she says, "When 'think back and realize its been eight years, can't believe it." Platt competed in forensics during her high school years in Cedar City after her family moved from Kansas City, and while she was a cohege Coed at SUSC. While attending SUSC, she also served two terms as student body president. With her degree, Platt took off for California and taught high school in Fontana for a few years.
