College of Desert), Greg Marusich (6-- 3 guardforward. Cypress JC), and Rhet Parsons (6-- 2 guard, Snow College) Recruited along with the JC transfers are college freshmen Richard Barton (6 8 centerforward. Cedar City) and Casey O'Neal (6-- 8 centerforward, Henderson, Nev ) Schemerhorn is pleased with the new aadit ons to his squad, noting that all but one of the d e players averaged 16 or more last season at their respective schools The only e with a very exception averaged 14 balanced team "We have tremendous scoring potential," reported Schermerhorn "Our team will be an offensive team, but a lot depends on the guard positions " Schermerhorn also mentioned that the competition will be stiff for the starting positions "I expect some extremely competetive preseason practices as players try to win starting jpots," Schermerhorn said The 'Birds begin their season Nov 21 in the Centrum when they host the SUSC Tipotf Tournament with Cal Baptist, Cal State LA, and Cal State Dominguez Hills newly-recruite- points-per-gam- points-per-gam- |
