The Universe, Ashcroft Observatory, 8 p.m. Homecoming slated Coming up Homecoming 85 is scheduled for 6 with Celebrations of October Life as the theme. Homecoming events include free movies at Fiddlers Theatre, Airplane football and frisbee drop, a Miss SUSC Pageant, Mud Football, Pool Party and a concert by Gregg Russell. The Southern Utah Calvacade, this years parade title, will include the Utah Pipe Band and Mountain Crest High School Band. The homecoming dance will be 22-2- Ag Club meeting set Ag Club and Orientation students will be meeting at the College Farm, Oct. 12, at 1 p.m. for a farm clean-uproject. TV course offered The telecourse, The Earth Explored, will be offered at SUSC for a general education credit and is taught in 14 television segments over KUED, channel 7. The course will provide students with an international field trip in physical geography. The programs will take the student from the top of the Swiss Alps to the bottom of Death Valley. Throughout the series, the student will have the opportunity to examine the forces which shape and continue to shape the Earth, said Richard Kennedy, course supervisor. Students who wish to take the telecourse for credit can obtain a course syllabus from Kennedy. The course requires a $15 lab fee to pay for the telecourse, as well as the telecourse workbook and a textbook which can be purchased at the bookstore. |
