April 1 Coming up Ad class slated What is the best advertising strategy for the small business? What can you do to get your message across to the greatest number of people for the fewest advertising dollars? Scheduled from 7 to 9 p.m. in room 106 of the Dixie Leavitt Business Building, Small Business Advertising is being sponsored by the Small Business Administration and the Southern Utah Chapter of S.C.O.R.E. the second of four evening workshops being sponsored this quarter by the SUSC Utah Business Development Center. Donald G. Godfrey, associate professor of communication at SUSC, is the workshop instructor. Godfrey has taught several advertising-oriente- d workshops before at SUSC, and he spent last summer working with the Fisher Broadcasting Company in Seattle, Wash., where he developed an advertising guide for the small business. According to Godfrey, the use of radio, newspaper, and low power television to increase business profits is It is the major thrust of the workshop. Participants will learn how to develop an advertising campaign strategy, and will discuss the advantages and disadvantages of each form of advertising. In addition, everyone attending the workshop will receive a package of information relevant to the media. All interested business owners and would-b- e business owners are invited to attend, notes SUSC UBDC Director Harry Swanson. Admission is $6 and is payable at the door.
