Buy one, get one FREE! Zion is alternative to homework (continued from page 13) One of the most spectacular places in the park is the Great White Throne. This beautiful formation has stood the test of time and remained white over centuries. The very end of the trail is the entrance to the Narrows, a popular 16 mile trail that takes hikers beneath sheer cliffs. When hiking the Narrows it is advised that you be very careful due to the high danger of flash floods. The advantage of Zions park is that the temperatures remain mild all year long. The park also remains open all year, although some of the higher elevation trails are closed in the winter and early spring. As you walk the trails watch for wildlife. Numerous deer, elk and other animals roam free amid the park. Various birds soar through the majestic Zion pinnacles. Colorful plants flower the winding trails, as do ferns. For a short or long trip Zion National Park is a beautiful and peaceful place to visit, an excellent place to escape from classes, the campus and even homework.
