Coming up Mass scheduled Schuberts Mass in G, a joint production of the colleges symphony orchestra and combined choirs, will be presented March 5 in the Thorley Recital Hall. The performance is scheduled to begin at 8 p.m. and is free to the public. Adams to lecture Utah educator Afesa Adams will discuss the history of the black power movement Friday at 2 p.m. in I.E. 113. Adams, associate vice president for academic affairs at the Uniersity of Utah, has entitled her free lecture A Continuing Quest for Power: A Historical Study of the Black Power Movement. Multi-CulturCenter Director Bonnie Mitchell indicates that Adams will speak . informally with education students at brown bag luncheon prior to her afternoon presentation. Minority womens issues is the subject of the luncheon. a The SUSC speaker is a former chairwoman for the University of Utah Department of Family and Consumer Studies. The holder of several degrees in psychology, Adams has a great deal of contact experience facilitating in education, particularly in the middle inter-raci- school, Mitchell notes. al Tailwind' slated The 1984 edition of Tailwind, SUSCs literary magazine, will be issued this spring. The staff is now accepting poetry and short stories. Selections should be turned into the English department offices on the third floor of Old Administration before March 6. This years edition will feature poems from Carol Jane Bangs, Jim Heynen, William Kloefkorn and other nationally recognized artists. |
