Only two of more than eight teams that Basketball competed in the Intramural Tournament conducted over the last couple of weeks both teams dominated the round robin tourney. In the championship game held Thursday the Fly Swatters edged the Nads at the buzzer with a layup by Swatter Ron Stott. Stott took a pass from teammate Kirk Hafen with four seconds remaining in the game to give the Swatters the 2 win. 63-6- Former Thunderbird basketball player Todd Christensen led the Nads with a 28 point game. Members of the Intramural champion Fly Swatters are Stott, Hafen, Brad Lambeth, Scott Henderson, Brent Lunt, Troy Lunt, Jim Ginetti and Jay Booth. In the Mens Intramural championship game the Trojans defeated Ernests Athletes by a margin. The Trojans maintained a lead throughout the game for the division title. In Saturday nights contest the Lady played a close game with the Indians of Fort Lewis. It was an exciting game to the final buzzer but the Lady Birds fell short in the point column It was the Dominique show. No, not Dominique Wilkins of the Atlanta Hawks, either. Dominique Skeehan the 63 center for Adams St. proved why Adams St. is 20-- 4 and the most dominant team in the conference. Dominique blistered the nets by scoring 26 points and hauling down 18 rebounds in the Adams St. 92-7- 1 victory over the SUSC womens team. They are a good ball club and their record shows it, Lady Bird Coach Boyd Adams said of last Thursdays loss. If you try to stop them inside they will beat you by hitting the jumper. We played hard but we relaxed a little bit at the beginning of the game, Adams said. We missed shpts early in the game and you just cant do that against a team like Adams St. Lisa Stolk pumped in 16 points and grabbed 6 rebounds. Denise Muir and Gwen Thomas each added 10 points.
