Lewis Raiders. Using only five players to score 99 of their points the Mavericks set a tempo early in the game never were able to keep up with. that the I dont think Ive ever seen a team shoot like that. Adams also said that the team shot a mere 30 percent from the field which contributed to the loss. Adams was expecting senior center Paula Burgoyne to be a definite factor in the outcome of the game. However, in the second half of the contest Burgoyne suffered a back injury. She was flown to a hospital in Grand Junction, Colorado for examination. At press time she was doing well. However, it is not yet known how serious her injury is or if she will be able to return to the lineup. Burgoynes injury forced teammate Lisa Stolk into the center position where she battled the Indians 63 center for supremacy under the boards. Stolk managed to grab 10 rebounds and in spite of the pop in 15 points for the teams loss. ht Lisa Ballantyne, doubtful at game time due to a knee injury, also contributed 10 points. Lately we have been kind of lackadaisical on defense and it affects our offensive play, stated Lisa Stolk. She also mentioned that defense was the key to the weekend. We have to be tough on the boards, she said. In Saturdays contest with the Raiders of Fort suffered a 87-5- 7 loss, their Lewis, the Lady second in two days.
