Lost Lunar photography scheduled for Oct. 15 Pounds r V .A WITH OUR HYPNOSIS PROGRAM V Camera buffs will have a chance to photograph the moon Saturday, Oct. 15 at Ashcroft Observatory. All you need is a loaded camera and a adapter, says Observatory Director Brent Sorensen. Generally speaking, the higher the film ASA, the better celestial photographs will be, but in the case of the moon just about any ASA can be used because of the great amount of light it reflects. and Minolta adapters for Pentax S- - or bayonet mount cameras are available at the observatory. Photography begins at 8:25 p.m. Three other observational programs will be offered at the star facility each Monday and Friday throughout the month. The moon and evening planets will be featured Oct. 14, the full moon and double stars Oct. 14, 17 and 21, and autumn deep sky objects Oct. 24 and 28. The slide presentation Comets will begin the programs at 8 p.m. Regularly scheduled programs are free to the public. During this time the SUSC a season ticket theatre arts department will mount a sale. The department hopes to sell between 700 and 800 tickets this year. Drama club members will also be selling potted Boston ferns for $6 each to raise money for the clubs annual trip to New York, according to Club President Randall S. Hickman. Interested persons should contact any club member. 1983-8- 4 theatre season passes cost $14.50 for singles or two for $25. Senior Citizens can purchase tickets for $12 each or two for $20. Buyers not only save 30 percent over regular ticket prices but also receive advance notification about upcoming events and are guaranteed seats for mainstage and studio productions. Subscribers may also exchange tickets up to 24 hours before curtain time (subject to availability) and take advantage of special group rates. Interested people can mail, call, or walk in their orders. Theatre box office hours are p.m. p.m. weekdays, performance days. The box office phone is R. Scott Phillips, theatre promotions coordinater, visualizes this season as a difficult year with many large plays. Every year we overextend ourselves. Although this season doesnt officially begin until Nov. 4, SUSC will host the traveling production of Sophocles Antigone from the University of Utah. Patrons will receive a 50 percent discount. Bamum will be the seasons first musical. Directed by Fred Adams, professor of theatre, the Broadway circus musical will play Nov. 4, 5, 17, 18 and 19. Seven Keys to Baldpate will be this years Drama Club fund raiser. Directed by Mitzi McKay, a senior theatre major, this melodrama will open Dec. 5. This show is not included in the season pass but patrons will receive discount rates. Ticket holders will also get discounts for the joint theatre-musi- c department opera The Marriage of Figaro, which plays Feb. Tartuffe, the famous French spoof by Moliere, opens March p.m. Student Center Senate Room Gasses conducted by Provos CllfF and Dawn Webb. Featured on PM Magazine, Dimension 5, ABC, NBC & CBS. Members include Paul Gates (Count Almaviva), Liz Barney (Countess Almaviva), Natalie Frehner (Suzanna), Mike Michie (Figaro), Chris Fuller (Cherubino), Barb Louder (Marullino), Dr. Ronald Aden (Bascillio), Tom Sparks (Antonio) and Janae Bickmore (Barbarina). The chorus will be cast later in the school year. The opera is scheduled for Feb. 2-- 4. |
