Thats not really news, except, if she makes the team and letters, it may be her 11th athletic letter award as a Thunderbird athlete. Green, a fireball senior, has earned three letters in volleyball (shes currently working on her fourth), three letters in basketball (she will probably earn a fourth this year), and two letters in track. A softball letter would leave gymnastics as the only sport Green did not conqufer at SUSC. Anita is the type of athlete who is willing to work hard to succeed, Ben Davidson, SUSCs track coach, said. 4 Intramurals to begin play this week Just For The Fun Of It is the theme of this years intramural sports activities at Southern Utah State College. Today marks the beginning of an inaugural week of events that includes coed volleyball and softball. Mens and womens flag football leagues will swing into action Oct. 10. The days activities will bear the name Turkey Trot, he said. Intramurals are not just for physical education majors, Kingsford said. "Theyre for the total student body and are part of what student activitiy fees pay for. SUSC intramurals are run for and by the students. The emphasis on Thunderbird intramurals is not skill, but to be involved, have fun and to meet people, Kingsford said. New students are welcome to the program, and will be placed on a team immediately, he said. SUSC intramurals has a team emphasis, Kingsford said.
