The continuation was rec-- 1 ommended last week by the Salt Lake City Citizens Advi- sory Committee on Airpjrt , Improvements. In Thursdays action, the commission also agreed to request the airlines to cooperate with Ford by supplying Police Find Heroin, Drug Items Special to The Tribune SOUTH SALT LAKE South Salt Lake police have recovered $100 worth of heroin and more than 150 pills found when they were assisting an ambulance in picking up a man at 2144 Major St. (50 East), Chief Robert C. Also recovered were se eral syringes. Confiscated in addition to the heroin were 127 methadone pills and 26 nembutal pills. Chief Wilkins said. Citizen Committee Approval Mayor J. Bracken Lee and Parks Commissioner Conrad B. Harrison, in charge of Salt Lake City International Airport, both emphasized approval of the citizens committee recommendations does not constitute endorsement of Ford plans. They also said it should be spelled out that further studies would be strictly at Fords expense. The committee recommended the action in a letter to the commission May 27 after Don C. Albin, Chicago, manager of airport planning for United Air Lines and chairman of an airline special study group, announced that since Air Transport Assn, of America (ATA), an alliance of all airlines, had rejected the Ford plan for Salt Lake City, there would be no further action by the airlines. Plans Meet Later Thursday A. Dale Peak, United Airlines manager in Salt Lake City, said UAL officials will meet in Salt Lake City next week. The airlines have not closed the door, he said. Study and action groups participate in airport plans all over the country to anticipate future needs for such studies "cant be put aside. Ford has proposed the construction of a huge transportation center near the Salt Palace with guidea, driverlers vehicles for transportation to and directly to parked aircraft at Salt Lake International. However, the firm has indicated its willingness to continue the study if requested and to modify original plans to the satisfaction of all concerned. The past studies have been at Ford's expense.
