Messerly Tribune Sports Writer Area Nordic skiers will get serious work early this year, and specifically this weekend at the annual running of the Landes Cup cross country and jumping meet at Solitude and Alta ski resorts. The glamour part of the meet, the jumping, is sched-ule- d down to Sunday on Altas Landes Hill, but the will start Saturday action when the cross country runners puff their way around a rugged course at Solitude. And the field will be a great one probably the best in recent years at the Landes with competitors Cup meet from several Intermountain Area colleges scheduled to remember for a Landes Cup meet, Murphy said. And that means the meet record of 202 feet might be in danger, and even Frithof Prydz hill record of 212 feet might be in trouble. Matz Jenssen is the defending meet champ and holds the meet record, but the University o' Utah ski coach isnt sure whether or not he will compete this year.
