Practicum promotes library system y Joanne Gardner’s practicum for her master’s degree in instructional media at USU is being used by Friends of the Library to promote a county wide library system for Cache County slide-tap- e series which is being shown “The practicum is a two-pato individuals and organizations in the county Probably about 400 persons have seen either the first part or both parts’’ Miss Gardner stated The daughter of George and Lavinia Gardner the USU student wanted to produce something useful and at the same time fulfill her degree requirements “It was a real learning experience for me” said Miss Gardner of the research and field work necessary for putting together the presentation The first part of the project is just a look at what is available currently in the county She visited each of the five libraries in operation Lewiston Richmond Smithfield Hyrum and Logan and took slides of the facilities and programs sponsored by the local communities “Some of the librarians were in favor of my project and one was really hostile towards a county library program” related Miss Gardner ” She said she learned such terms as branches and mill levy were to be used and were not She said she tried to make the project as open as possible in its discussion matter so she can possibly use it if she works for another library after graduation n A copy of the presentation is currently beng shown by Judy in librarian at the Cache Public Library Logan LOGAN i!
