OCR Text | Show UTAH STATE AGRICULTURAL VOLUME XLVIII COLLEGE LOGAN UTAH JUNE 27 1949 NUMBER THREE Dr Hartmann To Present Cfqq ies to Lecture Series O'or IJtak Summer School lecturer this week is Dr George W Hartmann Professor of Educational Psychology at Columbia University and visiting instructor in Education He will lecture Tuesday Wednesday and Thursday during the 11:00 o’clock hour in the Main Auditorium Dr Hartmann has distinguished himself in the fields of Education Psychology Social Sciences and Philosophy having written six books and conducted over 100 experimental studies in related subjects He is a keen student of world affairs and his lectures are always stimulating Title of his lecture series is “Three Unfinished Jobs of American Democracy” On Tuesday June 28 Dr Hartmann will talk on “A Postscript to the Psychology of War” Topic for Wednesda June 29 is “Footnotes to the Psychology of Industrial Conflict” and Thursday June 30 the final lecture is “A Preface to Education as Personality Engineering” Dr Hartmann graduated from Columbia University in 1924 and received his PhD in 1928: He taught at Dartmouth and Penn State and was a Social Science Research Council fellow at the University of Berlin and the University of Leipzig during 1930 and -- ’31 Girls' State Girls State sponsored by the American Legion Auxiliary will be held on the cantprrr this week The girls arrived yesterday and will conduct activities through next Sunday July 3 Purpose is to live together in learning citizenship and cooperation The girls and operate a mythical will set-u- p state government Library Schedule Main Heading Room Mon Tues Wed Thurs 8:00 a m -- 9:00p m 8 : 00 a m -
