This award goes to the person who has done the most for the teams and the student body in the field of athletics. Sportsmanship is the most important thing for a player and a team to have. The ability to be able to accept anything that should happen to fall upon a player is an art. To be a courteous winner or to accept defeat gracefully is a trait d be in every athlete. This year, the Parson Sportsman of the Year award goes to Mike Murry. Mike came to Westminster to start his second year of college. Since then, he has had a finger in almost every athletic pie in school. He started on a basketball scholarship and has lettered three years in basketball and earned a letter on the that-shoul- gridiron. As a physical education major who will graduate next week, Mike plans to enter the field of teaching and coaching. He plans to be married next October to Marge Wharton. The recipients will be Raoul Blumberg, to the publisher of the assistant Washington Post, Washington, D.C., the commencement speaker; the Rev. David Ng, pastor, Mendocino, California, Presbyterian Church, baccalaureate speaker; and the Rev. George Walker, vice president, Cook Christian Training School, Tempe, Arizona. Mr. Blumberg attended Grant and Whittier elementary schools in Salt Lake City and graduated from Westminster in 1924. He then entered Yale University of with a Bachelor and graduated Philosophy degree in 1929. Mr. Blumberg joined The Washington Post in 1935 and has worked in sales promotion, management and administration. He will receive a Doctor of Literature degree. Rev. Ng graduated from Westminster in 1956 with a B.A., summa cum laude. As a student he helped organize youth fellowships at the Holladay Community Church. has served a pastorate in He San Franciscos Chinatown, is a member of the Mendocino County Grand Jury and Economic Opportunity Council, and has in civil rights and social been active action activities. He will receive a Doctor of Divinity degree. Another Doctor of Divinity degree will go to Rev. Walker in recognition of his more than 20 years of service in Indian work. He assumed the presidency of Cook Christian Training School in 1945 when the schools budget was $12,000. Now, the school has completed the first phase of building a new $800,000 campus at Tempe. Rev.
