Show NO. NOVEMBER 4, 1954 3 HOMECOMING COMMITTEE NAMED AGASSIZ Homecoming this year will be November 11. Not all of the different committees have been chosen by the Student Council. Tom Sheldon, President of the Student Body, said that the rest of the com' mittee will be chosen this week. The committees that have been chosen and committee chairman are the following: The Sophmores are in charge of the parade and the decorating of the football goal posts. The Chairman for this committee will be the Soph' more Class, Dave Green. The Junior class with Johnny Young, class president, will be in charge of the Homecoming dance. The dance will be held in our new Student Lounge. The earth science club got things underway with its first meeting of the year. If this is to be any example, Agassiz is surely on its way to success. Those eligible for membership first semester are John Ahlrichs, Betsy Bums, Jean Gerber, Bill Hanley, Cliff Hedges, Elaine Hill, Nancy Johnson, Barbara Probert, Dale Thibault, Joyce Lewis, Don Muir, Michi Nakahara, Sally York, and Johnny Young. Please DONT FORGET YOUR DUES, which must be paid at or before the next meeting of November 4. Also, please check up on attendance rules that were set up at the last meeting. We would like to invite anyone to come over and sit in on our meetings. Remember November 4, at 7 :00 p.m., in the science building. There will be a movie, In the Beginning. BEAT The theme for Homecoming will be, CARBON. With the theme now available the different classes and organizations on campus should be well into the planning of their floats. To make Homecoming something to remember we all have to work, so lets all dig in with the work and fun. Watch for further details. STUDENT CHRISTIAN ASSOCIATION On the evening of October 13, the longe at Ferry Hall was the scene of a panel discussion on GIRLS' GLEE ON PARADE The Girls Glee Club, under the direction of Mrs. Elizabeth Hayes Simpson, has begun another year to bring musical enjoyment to all again. The group has accepted its first invitation to sing at the annual Y.W.C.A., sponsored function for Nov-- " ember 14, at the Unitarian Church. Their selections will be The Battle Hymn of the Republic, The Westminster Invocation, and Child Jesus in His Garden. The officers for the coming year are: Louise Gray Marian Garner Anna Marie Salerno and Librarians Nancy Kay The main feature of the evening then began. The speakers were Prof. Bradley and Dr. B. Baker of the science division, and Dr. A. Morris and Dr. Robinson of the Religion division. The panel was moderated by Prof. P. Uemura. The panel was thrown open to discussion and questions from the audience. Such questions as the creation and of man were raised.
