N Just a Hole About the Coming Elections First and foremost in everyones mind at the moment should be our student body elections. We have a marvelous group of candidates up for office, and with them all so capable a choice is pretty hard to make. So lets sit down and look the situation over mighty critically. Forget roommates and pals and think in terms of ability. When you cast your vote, remember that these people will run your student government, that they, will represent you at public gatherings and on the radio. Someone who is a wonderful friend may not necessarily be a capable student body officer. Dont let hearts, flowers, or posters get in the way of common sense. Vote wisely and carefully. Youre voting for yourself in a sense, as your officers are the ones who will try to carry out your ideas. Now a word to the candidates. You should be tremendously proud to have been nominated to represent the students of Westminster College. Were all behind you and will back you so long as youre with us. Remember that youre elected to serve the students in everything thats right and sensible. You speak for and stand for the rest of us wherever you go. Those of you who are elected hold a responsibility to the school and the principles upon which it was founded. Youll have to work hard with little glory. You who are not elected will be expected to stand behind next years officers and encourage them. , . Good luck to you all no matter who is elected we can be sure hat the school will be the proudest winner! During this memorable affair, three students were awarded $ IOC certificates for outstanding work done in this field, by the Medical Staff of St. Marks Hospital. Miss Wilson, from the education office of the Nursing School, awarded Faye McNamara, Barbara Ulmer and Wanda Whipple, with the bonds. President Palmer has just returned from a prospecting trip to the Moab area. We had understood that prospectors live on beans and salt pork. If that was his diet it z1 must agree with him. There is no noticeable loss of weight. If you think he was not successful just drop into his office with your portable geiger counter and run it over his desk.
