Show Two THE PARSON Editorial Comment Put Something in the Pot Boy I dont imagine there are very many students on campus who don't occasionally get a cup 01 coiiee irom the conee bar, or put a dime in the shack, candy .machine lor a I havent heard anyone complaining about the dime the spent and 1 dont imagine tney tnmk much about it. yet how inany ol you have ever, thought ot making a small contribution to the Conee Hour sponsored by the SC A? Every Friday this ambitious group passes out free coffee ana cookies to ail comers in Ferry Hail Lounge. You eat, drink, taux, and leave. No one stops to mink: about now mucn it must cost, or to consider how much time is spent malting the reiresnments. But you never hear a word irom the S C A. There is no cashier waiting at the door, no hat passed, ana no complaints registered if you have seconds, or even uurds. Yms active organization deserves much more credit than it ever gets. Practically every Friday at Chapel, there is a short, sometimes corny, sometimes tunny announcement ot a coming & CA event, to which all are cordially invited. They dont require tnat you join with them in promoting good clean fun and friendsmp on tn& campus.. What could be easier' The best in ail ol us is representeu each time a donation is made to some worthy cause by tne 5 C a. Their ever open minds to new and diherent ideas give eacn member a chance to express himself and his interests. The different commissions try to rind the reasons behind current happenings in the world today. Yes, besides being one of the friendliest groups on campus, they are also one ot tne best mid-alterno- on . informed. Its up to all of us to keep this group as active as possible. Any contributions that could be made, whether it be money, cotlee, or cookies, would be most grateluily accepted. Any lack of help thus far, was probably due to ignorance ot tne tacts. Now that we know what its all about, we should willingly back them and keep the Coiiee Hour open. I feel that the paper, which made its first appearance on the campus this year, will live to be a tradition here at Westminster. I regret not being able to finish the year as editor of the Parson, but events beyond' my control make the job an impossibility. I feel satisfaction in knowing that the job of editor lies in the hands of such an able person as Mickie Kerikas, and hope the students will continue to give her the fine help that I received. Thanks very much, Sam Taylor. I Letter to the Editor Dear Editor: My letter concerns not exactly a complaint but more of a " suggestion. Its about our Friday Chapel Instead of having announcements and such, lets dig up our school talent! Have the - Student Council appoint a committee to line up assemblies. Put each campus organization in charge of one Friday Chapel session. Even ask each floor of each dorm to put one on. I know the kids would go for this and there would probably be a marked number of reduced absences. I believe this is worth a try. As far as this goes I am, Just One of, Many.
