She is Chung Ja Mo from Pusan, Korea. Chung, who already has a degree from the University of Seoul, heard ' first of Westminster from a Methodist missionary in Korea. With the help of a former Salt Lake resident, a Mrs. Kidder, whose husband, Major Kidder, was stationed in Korea, Chung applied for admission to our school. Then followed the long journey to the United States. Chung left Pusan aboard the S. S. City of Alma on December 15, and arrived in San Francisco on January 2. After staying in San Francisco for 6 days she continued by train to Salt Lake and Westminster. The ambitious young lady plans to take general courses in history and English, and then intends to. work for her masters degree in chemistry. When' she has completed her education she will return to Korea and be an instructor in a college there. At the present time her favorite activities are and listening to classical reading music. But it is quite possible that with the addition Of so many new fields of entertainment to her life she will find many other ways in which to occupy her leisure. Chung, who is typically oriental in her modesty, commented on how friendly the Americans are. Let us all do our best to make her happy during her stay with us, while she is so far from home and the people and customs which she extra-curricul- ar tions again. More studying will be done on May 29 loves. and 30 than in the whole semester' preceding. Some new musical selections have been added to the ones already learned by the group, and now remains only polishing off the rough edges. The group will present a program at the First Baptist Church Sunday night, and at that time will sing many of the numbers to be used on the tour. The program will be started at 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, as a part of the regular religious service of the church. The First Baptist Church each year invites many singing groups to appear at their services and Westminster is included in that group of singers. Committees have been selected from choir members to take care of the many various details concerning a trip of this nature. It is hoped that all the groups can work out their problems with a minimum of . difficulty. The new robes have arrived and add very much to the appearance of the group. Group pictures will be taken in the near future and one of these will appear in a coming issue of the The Parson. A detailed story of the projected tour will be printed in the next issue of this paper. crew from Speech 60 presented Thank You, Doctor, last Monday evening for the drama class.
