The bandit indicated that he had a gun, but did not show it at any time during the robbery. Upon the arrival of Mr. Pollards son, Eric, he, too, was ordered to stay where he was or they would be blasted. The man, who was described as about 5 feet tall, fled with the money to a car that was In Memoriam Funeral services were held last Wednesday for Christensen Fredrick Sorensen, 73, 1330 W. 4200 So. Mr. Sorensen was founder of the Sorensen Construction Co. He was also a charter member of the Ute Rangers and the Taylorsville Lions Club. He died in a Salt Lake hospital after suffering a long illness. He was born July 27, 1886 in Alderslyst, Denmark. He is survived by his widow and three sons and daughters, Edwin, Leon C., and Henry Sorensen, Mrs. Howard (Ellen) Mackay, Mrs. Richard M. (Dorothy) Savage, and Mrs. Raymon O. (Evelyn) Orgill. At Kearns VFVV To Hold Talent Show The Walker Neal Snyder Post of the Kearns VFW are formulating plans for a talent show to help raise funds for the Kearns Jr. High band uniforms. With the assistance of Glenn Sarbo of the Kearns Lions Club, the program is slated for August 27th in the Kearns Jr. High auditorium at 8 p.m. The present program consists of local talent that will provide a variety of en- tertainment. All organizations are invited to provide entertainment for the program if they know of persons able to do so. If you have someone or know of anyone that has a talent that would be interested in taking part, please call either Mr. Jim Mr. Vance Hodges, CY or Mr. Glen Conders, AM Sarbo, CY With a community the size of Kearns, and the youth there is available, a large amount of talent should be easily obtained. Girls who plan to be with the group at these appearances cannot miss any further practices, or they will not be able to go with the group.
