Show RELIGION CLASS entertainment the entertainment given by the religion class in the opera house last saturday afternoon and evening was very good indeed but in the evening the attendance was rather a or t k hat there has been a sort or of sameness about the religion class performances for forni mances ances they being usually made up or of beet beef tons ion of plays operettas ope con curfs cei as etc and while in each instance the program has been practically new throughput throughout yet it has partaken partaker par taken of that spirit W JAPANESE IESE SCENE the cirii number on the program was vas ome lhing entirely new and unique being a E itne ene from japanese life alte both high and low given under the of mr mis Featherstone who s ani ome years ears in the land of the W ado and hence is thoroughly c e to present the scene we mi mih featherstone on itie buccey acce that attended her efforts in hat ahat line ine and assure her that she ns ver much appreciated SCHOOL As to the ibe dokey darkey scene we hardly ickow wha to say it created considerable sid erable tun fun and lit in the evening might inight have been called presentable because about half of it had been cutA it was so long in the afternoon that it became really tiresome farces of that character can be made pretty short and still suffer no injustice scandinavia following the negro section came the scandinavians inasmuch as is we 6 were in the section we are hardly competent to pass upon labut we have the word of others not directly participating that it was fairly good there was nothing particularly high classed about it but it was a fair presentation of 0 scandinavian songs INGOMAR THE BARBARIAN the from ing insofar In ornar the darl bw llan lan tan b mlis effi s louie bywater and mr john E baird was very pretty indeed and well presen presented tod an en cyp evening spent in giving further from hiir cia ic drama wu we belleve would be appreciated OPERETTA the operetta which the pr program was wa a pretty abing and un well sustained there were lots of pretty girls and nice looking young men in the company and was alto altogether ether an entertaining element ot adt the show one part had bad been over looked however and that was the program ot of the tace three scenes when the curtain went down clown on the first scene people were at a t a loss to know W whether the show was vase i ended or not and many went home thinking it was all over sove jojne who rather e expected a second scene cene went out immediately after that was finished so that when the third hird scene was given the house had been pretty well em piled 1 LOIS LOTS OP WORK jp much credit is due the religion class wor workers keis for the great palus taken t to give th the e people their moneys worth in which no one will deny that they succeeded admirably FINANCIAL the financial part of the show was perhaps the least successful due dhe more particularly to the tact fact that a great deal of paraphernalia that might have been had at some other time or upon longer notice cost a good de deal al more than was expected so while the receipts were fairly large the net earnings were too small superintendent 0 vi inov reel feel very thankful for the assistance that they received from those who in ili any took part they extend their thanks even to the mothers whose children were enabled to appear on oil the s tage stage through their work in providing them with costumes and letting them take the time ifor rehearsals etc further more they thank the public for its generous support both in he the afternoon and evening |
