Show Page 4 Forum September 24, On Friday, September 3rd at approximately 2 a.m. the Salt Lake City cops" arrived on campus to be greeted by Carleson and Hogle residents participating in Freshman initiation. The police came due to neighboring residents complaints about noise level. According to Kevin Compton, a resident advisor of Carleson, the police found the scene humorous and after warning about the noise, departed. Initiation is designed to welcome the new students into college life. It helps make Carleson and Hogle Halls more like a home where many students will be spending the next nine months. The officers at Hogle Hall are Teri Schryer, president; Idis Cuervas, vice president; Tracy Bridge, secretary; Tracy Lamus, historian, and Lisa Larrimore, treasurer. The officers at Carleson are Pete Coxhead, president; Howard Carter, vice president; Jeff Pierce, secretary; and Dave Russell, treasurer. The dorms have several activities planned for the coming year. Hogle will be selling Current stationary and will sell raffle tickets for a quilt during Homecoming week. Both dorms are planning to raise money by having slave sales. The August yearbook delivery date, according to Sheri Dearing, editor of the Etosian, "will enable our staff to produce a more complete yearbook than has been produced in the past." Advantages of the fall yearbook, according to Dearing, include coverage of spring events, longer deadlines, and more pages for the same price. The additional pages will be used by the staff to cover spring events such as graduation, baccalaureate, and nurses capping ceremony. Improvements over previous yearbooks are more CAREER? A representative will be on the campus pick it up. The book, which is a student publication, is paid for by student activity fees. Therefore, it will not cost the student anything when picking it up. Graduating seniors, and students not planning to return to the College, will have their yearbooks mailed to them. Ron Czajka .0. According to Teri Schryer, president of Hogle Hall, the girls were forced out of bed at 1:30 a.m. The sleepy and bewildered girls were asked to parade in their pajamas to music. The girls were then blindfolded and escorted by upperclassmen to Carleson. The guys at Carleson were similarly awakened and the latest fashions in pajama wear were modeled. The upperdass guys had a few surprises for everyone. They doused all the girls, both freshman and upperclass with water and shaving cream as soon as they were led outside. Later the girls returned to Hogle where they were served refreshments. Roxanne Swedin, Dorm Director at Hogle was enthusiastic that many of the new freshman are very involved in school, both academically and socially. Kevin Emerick, the Freshman Representative at Carleson enjoy the friendly atmosphere.
