Several times Ive sworn That Tree was coming down the afternoon of the big day but the desire for a nap after eating far too much turkey and trimmings always seems to overcome the tree removal idea. And besides, someone always moans its still pretty. Bah, humbug! Theres certainly not a great deal of anticipation the day after Christmas. How can one look forward to dragging all that discarded wrapping paper, the boxes and the turkey bones out to the curb to await the trash collector? They are good for nothing except to remind us of what was and what wont return until a year from now. At the Scribblers the tree bit took a new twist for a change since the Mrs. didnt get the darn thing up until two days before. Now I suppose it will be up to celebrate my birthday in February!! Hutchinson, 22, of Ell Paso, Tex., is still listed in critical condition and is in intensive care at the LDS Hospital in Salt Lake. Hutchinson was the driver of a car which struck the rear of a county front-en- d loader on Highways 50-- a mile east of Helper on Dec. 17. rlf I have a pet peeve about people who, when they tell you something good or constructive that a teenage or group of youngsters have done, will preface the story with something like, not all kids are bad, or heres something good you can write about kids for a change or we read so much bad news about teenagers, how about putting in something about all the good things they do. It seems to me this approach inadvertantly puts down all kids. We all know that there are good and bad kids, just like there are good and bad adults or good and bad anything. And no one needs to convince me that the decent kids far outnumber the other kind. Sometimes though, it is hard to convince people that this newspaper and most others devote a whole lot more space to "good news" about kids than to stories about their misdeeds.
