Officers for the year include Clyde president; Scott Timothy, vice president; Pat Ivie, secretary, and Dr Robert Milano, adviser. The main objective of the club will be sponsorship of another successful rodeo in the spring. The Carbon County Sheriffs Posse held a steak fry Sept. 13 at the Price Canyon recreation area. Trophies were presented to the Black Diamond Stampede queen and her attendants, Susan Carlson, Lynna Rukavina and Kara Gardner, respectively. Although the weather was rainy, a Carlson, left Sept. 16 for New York where they will be guests of Twentieth Century Fox for two weeks and attend the world premiere of Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid in New Haven, Conn. The Connecticut site was chosen for the premiere because it is the home of the star Paul Newman. He portrays Butch Cassidy in the film. This fellowship provides a tuition waiver for $2,250.00 for three quarters. This was announced by Dr. Vere A. McHenry, administrator of the State Board of Educations Division of Teacher Personnel. The professional certificate is issued to teachers and other personnel who have completed the equivalent of a fifth year of college preparation, Dr. McHenry explains. It is awarded to teachers who have completed planned programs of 55 or more quarter hours of college credit beyond attaining the bachelor degree.
