In asking for the public's support to the personal subscription drive Mayor West says: The people of Carbon county and Utah are justly proud of the Carbon high school band. These fine young men and women have many times earned the opportunity of participating in the national contest. In view of the fact that no Utah exhibit is entered in the Iorlds fair at Chicago, our band should and must go. The people of the east and middle west are more or less familiar with, our natural resources and scenic wonders. What better exhibit can Utah contribute to the Worlds fair than this exhibit of the cultural life of the people. I request every citizen of Price and Carbon county and invite oczr friends throughout the state of Utah to assist in this needed project. I shall place my time and services at the disposal of the committee until all necessary funds are secured " If England doesnt want to her debt to us in money, why notpay let us have Ireland?
