Show r t MB Volunteerism is not without personal reward For many people volunteer service is a special source of personal satisfaction and growth.' As a special reward for volunteering, a person is able to: Develop Creativity and expertise in areas of personal interest. Volunteers have many special abilities and skills they can use to help solve todays problems. Meet new people in interesting and varied settings. Volunteering is a good way to extend ones network of professional acquaintances and friends. Its a chance to interact with other adults, young adults or with children as part of a team doing meaningful work. Explore new careers and upgrade skills. Many useful skills learned by volunteers - such as Lunch & working effectively with others or can be transteaching a skill ferred to the job market. Make a difference by contributing an important service. Volunteers influence public policy and work to better peoples lives. Grow personally in the process of learning new skills, gaining new insights, and achieving a sense of accomplishment. The best part of their perform- - at Sevier Lunch and Learn will be held Thursday, April 18, from 12:15 p.m. to 12:45 p.m. at the Extension conference room in the basement of the courthouse. Immunization Action Month The month of April has been set as Utahs Immunization Action Month. There will be special immunization clinics held throughout Utah on Wednesday, April 17, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the following Public Health Offices: Richfield - 201 East 500 North Junction - Piute County Courthouse Loa - Wayne County Courthouse This will be a good opportunity to get all children immunized, as well as those who will be entering kindergarten. pro- All twelve local health departments across the state have set extended immunization clinic hours during April. Despite the immunization law a statewide survey for the 1990-89- 1 school year found that only 92 of children in school and less than 90 of those in day care centers A were adequately immunized. 1990 survey of Utahs two year old children revealed that more than 60 were not adequately immunized. In all public immunization clinics a small fee is charged for each vaccination, but according to Utah, no person will be denied immunizations because of inability to pay.
