Keeping America on the Grow Is FFA PR Campaigns Slogan The North Sevier FFA chapter is currently gearing up to join nearly one half million other FFA members across the country for the 1984 Nationwide FFA Public Relations M.R. s English Class Gets BOAC Certificate The North Sevier 9th Grade Eng- lish Classes donated used book and magazines to the Media Center in support of the FFA Build Our American Community Program Bo-ok Drive. Campaign. ' This three part campaign will culminate around the AMERICA ON THE GROW. The campaign's three components highlights newly developed public service announcements featuring actor Eddie Albert, funded by the General Fund of the FFA; A National FFA WEEK Celebration, February 18 to 25, 1984, with the design, development and promotion funded by Estech, Inc., and Annual theme show audiovisual, sponsored by the Wrangler Brand. The purpose of the campaign is to solicit support for the vocational agriculture and FFA program. Chapter , ! Chairman Chris Home remarked that It was a great effort on their part. I hope other groups in the community will pledge their support as well. theme-KEEP-IN- G Support Your Local FFA SAUNA VECTOR VIDEO Chet Crane, reports that Sevier FFA Chapter is to take the necessary make the campaign a success. Crane also adds, Our chapter is planning several projects that will benefit not only the chapter but the community as well. There are three major programs which we will perform this year. 1. The Cooperative Experience program to help students interested in agriculture, gain hands on experience through employment, awards for achievement, and a source for agricultural resources that are in the community. The FFA Chapter plans to run this program with the help from individual donations and other agricultural related business in North Sevier area. The Build Our American Communities (B.O.A.C.) calls for the involvement of youth in the comIt munity development process. provides the opporunity to shape the community in which they will spend the rest of their lives. The Public Relations program gives the students of agriculture the chance to conduct meetings, organize advertisements and promote the FFA to other groups in the community. The Chapter is always willing to put on a demonstration for a local group in parliamentary proceedure, public speaking, safety and other programs of the FFA. All of this builds character and leadership for the future citizens of the community.
