Nicholas of Willard, lives by the theory that when you are busy you dont have time to find other peoples faults. She is the mother of seven children, six girls and one boy; Mrs. Ivan C. Come Out And Support Your Home Town Team! f m 4 ' Dorene Young Crane lsNow . 0 ' ' tiftw I Dorene Young Crane, daughter of Mr, and Mrs. Wallace Young of this city, is one of 14 new nurses to gain degrees at graduation rites held yesterday, Thursday, at 8 p. m. in the L.D.S. Institute of Religion in Salt Lake City. Friday evening, tonight, she will receive her bachelor of science degree , at ,t(ie University summer commencement. , began her music career before she was 10 years of age in the Idaho stake Sunday Oxford, school conference when she played, Whos On The Lords Side Who for George Goddard to sing. She has chalked up 33 yeans as organist in the Relief society, 48 years as Willard organist and 12 years as stake organist. , Her musical training began under the watchful eye of her father, Nephi Brunker, She has also studied under the late R. B. Baird of IWlllard and Joseph Valentine of Ogden. She has been privileged to play in the Manti, Idaho Falls, Canadian and Logan temples, in the assembly hall in Salt Lake City and in the Ogden tabernacle. Some of the outstanding people she has played for include Pres,. Heber J. Grant, Apostle Melvin Ballard and Lucy Gates Bowen. Her husband, Gordon B. Nicholas, died in 1940, and since that time she has been busy on Willard City cemetery records. She has now completed a new record book of all graves in the Willard cemetery. The record began with a few more than 500 names and with several days at the cemetery checking headstones Mrs. Nicholas now has 966 In the Willard City records. The names have now been placed in the archives In the Genealogical library at Salt Lake City. Mrs. Nicholas has also typed a copy for each male and female of the marriage licenses issued in Box Elder county from 1887 to and including 1936. All the information has been typed on cards and arranged alphabetically and presented to the archives in Salt Lake City. She plans to complete the remaining 16 years this fall. Number of cards typed ran into thousands. All work, with the exception of secretary and treasurer for the cemetery, has been done without charge. She emphasized the fact that all women should have some sort of profession. She began training for a profession in 1901-0when she attended L. D. S. business college in Salt Lake City where she studied shorthand and typing. Along with writing her weekly column for the News and Journal she has had time to do temple work for more than 1,000 names on her family tree. She is serving as a notary public, secretary and treasurer of Willard cemetery district, South Box Elder stake Sunday school school secretary, secretary of welfare 'committee and genealogical committee, and historian of Willow Creek Daughters of Utah Pioneers camp. Mrs. Nicholas recalls working in every organization In the L. D. S. church. When you see her on the street, return her friendly smile for now you know Mrs. Hannah B.
