Linford is the son of Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Linford, 318 West Second South. After graduating in 1958 from Utah State university, Linford worked in the technical library and the reports section of Thiokol Wasatch division. In 1961 he received his masters degree in library science from Western Reserve university in Cleveland, Ohio and for began work as librarian Hercules Powder company in Salt Lake City.
